The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo held a meeting with a World Bank technical assistance mission financed by SECO that is supporting the bank’s work on financial consumer protection and financial education. The discussions focused on further cooperation to strengthen the central bank’s framework in these areas and on developing more modern approaches to market conduct supervision, consumer protection and financial education in line with international practice. The central bank said new frameworks and instruments are intended to align with OECD International Network on Financial Education recommendations, relevant European Union frameworks and other international standards, while reflecting the needs of Kosovo’s financial market. Governor Ahmet Ismaili also reiterated that consumer protection and financial education remain strategic priorities, linked to improving citizens’ financial knowledge, promoting financial inclusion and supporting better informed financial decision-making.
