The Central Bank of Taiwan published June 2026 data for the interbank call loan and commercial paper markets, showing a slight easing in the interbank overnight call loan rate alongside higher market activity. The weighted average overnight call loan rate was 0.823%, down 0.002 percentage points from the previous month, while total interbank call loan turnover rose 5.09% month on month to NT$2,537.6 billion and the daily average outstanding balance increased 4.24% to NT$513.3 billion. In the interbank call loan market, domestic banks remained the main participants, accounting for 51.9% of borrowing and 76.78% of lending. In commercial paper, primary market rates for 1-30 day paper averaged 1.95%, up 0.13 percentage points from the previous month, while secondary market rates averaged 1.70%, up 0.24 percentage points. Outstanding short-term bills issued through the TDCC Bills Clearing and Settlement System fell 2.18% to NT$4,253.8 billion, including commercial paper outstanding of NT$4,093.7 billion, down 1.35%. Secondary market turnover in short-term bills increased 3.78% to NT$5,482.6 billion, of which commercial paper accounted for NT$5,086.5 billion, up 3.73% from the previous month.
