The Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that its director, Jasmin Mahmuzić, participated in the World Bank and International Monetary Fund’s 24th Annual Conference on Challenges for Financial Sector Policy in Washington, contributing to international discussions on regulatory and supervisory approaches. Mahmuzić took part in discussions and a panel on “Changing perspectives on liquidity risk”, presenting views on current regulatory guidance and the need to revisit liquidity risk approaches in light of experience from past crisis periods. The release also highlighted the agency’s work on strategic risk management and aligning its regulatory framework with Basel III in its domestic economic context, and noted that Mahmuzić was the first speaker from this part of Europe to address the conference. The agency said the engagement has been followed by the inclusion of Bosnia and Herzegovina and experts from the Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in international working groups and forums tasked with further developing standards and approaches in selected areas of bank governance and the regulatory framework.
