South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance convened medical device exporters, local governments and export support agencies in Wonju to address barriers to overseas expansion. Companies raised difficulties involving foreign approvals and market entry, certification and product registration costs, logistics expenses, overseas exhibitions, specialist recruitment and support for first-time exporters. The ministry and participating agencies directed companies to existing support, including certification services, export and logistics vouchers, low-interest policy financing for certification costs, end-to-end certification advice, workforce training and dedicated guidance covering the full export process. A regional export promotion meeting and an export finance briefing will follow on Sept. 16, with policy finance institutions presenting loan and guarantee programs and offering one-to-one support.
