The Bank of the Lao PDR’s Accounting and Finance Department held a two-day training programme on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting for non-bank financial institutions to support readiness for IFRS implementation under its Notice No. 16/BOL (11 September 2023), which addresses IFRS adoption for non-bank financial institutions including those classified as public interest entities. Held at the Banking Institute on 11–12 November 2025 and chaired by the Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, N. Nakhonsy Manotham, the training brought together 220 participants from the central bank and non-bank financial institutions. The agenda covered IFRS requirements for non-bank financial institutions, how to compile inputs for IFRS gap analysis and detailed implementation plans, preparation of financial reporting documents, and an overview of the Lao Credit Information Company and related legal provisions governing credit information activities.
