The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has opened applications for membership in its Investor Advisory Panel, an independent group of experts on investor issues that advises CIRO on regulatory policy development, annual priorities, strategic plans, and other regulatory initiatives. CIRO is seeking candidates with relevant expertise in investor protection, concerns, issues and rights, and is looking for diverse perspectives, backgrounds and geographic representation across Canada. Individuals employed by a CIRO Member or serving on CIRO Hearing Panels are not eligible. Applications are expected to describe relevant investor-issues experience (including by product or business model such as crypto and fintech), any regulatory experience, skills related to specific investor groups, and any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest; voluntary self-identification information is also invited to support diverse representation. Applications are open until March 31, 2026, with shortlisted applicants to be interviewed and final selections made by the CIRO Board Governance Committee, and appointments made for a minimum two-year term.
