The U.S. House Financial Services Committee held a hearing on the economic effects of the Trump administration’s financial services policies and regulatory reforms, focusing on affordability, investment, innovation and access to capital. In prepared remarks, Chairman French Hill argued that clearer rules and reduced regulatory burdens support market confidence, community financial institutions and capital formation. Hill said committee Republicans are seeking to codify regulatory changes to make them permanent and predictable. He cited the enactment of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and the GENIUS Act, as well as House passage of the Main Street Capital Access Act, the INVEST Act and the CLARITY Act, as part of broader efforts covering capital markets, housing supply, community financial institutions and financial innovation.
