The National Bank of Ukraine reported preliminary international reserves of USD 51.1989 billion as of Aug. 1, 2026, down 0.1% in July. Foreign exchange interventions and public debt payments slightly exceeded inflows from international partners, foreign currency government securities and the conversion of Ukraine Support Loan funds into hryvnia. Reserves covered 4.2 months of future imports and were assessed as sufficient to maintain foreign exchange market sustainability. The central bank was a net seller of USD 4.7565 billion in the foreign exchange market. Government foreign currency accounts received USD 1.6406 billion, including USD 683.3 million from the International Monetary Fund, USD 498.7 million through World Bank accounts and USD 458.6 million from foreign currency domestic government securities. The government also converted USD 3.43 billion of restricted Ukraine Support Loan funds into hryvnia, increasing reserves. Public foreign currency debt payments totaled USD 515.4 million, with a further USD 174.2 million repaid to the IMF, while revaluation and other factors added USD 300.6 million.
