The Oman Financial Services Authority has launched the Promising Investor summer programme with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Muscat branch, to build financial literacy among school students. The two-week programme runs from 21 June to 2 July 2026 and brings together 60 students from across Oman’s governorates to strengthen their understanding of money management, saving, investment and financial planning through interactive training. The programme combines theoretical and practical components, including personal budgeting, saving tools, expense management, investment fundamentals, long-term financial planning, risk analysis and financial decision-making. It also includes financial market simulations, exposure to modern investment tools and techniques, and applied workshops led by financial sector specialists, ending with each participant preparing a comprehensive personal financial plan. Participants were selected using specific criteria intended to maximise benefit and support diversity in participation. The programme forms part of the authority’s broader financial literacy efforts across different segments of society, with a focus on younger generations.
