The People's Bank of China convened its 2025 internal audit work meeting, reviewing the results of its 2024 internal audit programme and setting priorities for 2025 focused on strengthening audit supervision and the impact of remediation across the central bank and its affiliated entities. The 2025 work plan prioritises audits linked to deepening reforms in the financial sector, implementation of rectification arising from the central inspection process, execution of institutional reform arrangements, and more standardised management of affiliated units. It also calls for more research-oriented auditing to analyse common and emerging issues, and for an upgraded internal audit remediation mechanism combining centralised rectification assessment, circulation of typical issue notices, and party committee-led resolution of key issues, supported by stronger cross-function supervisory coordination, information sharing, and internal audit team capability and integrity requirements.
