The Reserve Bank of Fiji announced that Kontiki Finance Ltd, Home Finance Company (HFC) Pte Ltd and the Sugar Cane Growers Fund have signed the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (WE-Fi) Code, expanding the initiative to 11 participating institutions. The Code is positioned as a commitment by financial ecosystem stakeholders to improve access to finance for women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (WMSMEs). Signatories commit to appoint gender champions, implement targeted policy actions to support WMSMEs, and report annually on a core set of gender-disaggregated indicators. The signing ceremony was hosted by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank, and the release also notes Fiji’s participation as one of 24 pilot countries working with WE-Fi implementing partners.
