The National Bank of Serbia published third-quarter 2025 payment system statistics showing continued growth in digital banking adoption and transaction volumes, with mobile banking driving most of the increase. By the end of Q3 2025, 4,962,039 users (individuals and legal entities) had contracted mobile banking services, up 11.5% year on year, and 4,800,512 users had contracted electronic banking services, up 11.2%. Total payments made with digital banking instruments reached 68.7 million, a 10.3% increase versus the same quarter of 2024. Mobile banking payments rose 26.2% to 34.3 million, while electronic banking payments fell 2% to 34.4 million. The National Bank of Serbia linked mobile banking growth to app-based functionalities including instant payments at points of sale via IPS Scan and IPS Show, payment of obligations by scanning the NBS IPS QR code, and account-to-account transfers via the Transfer service.
