The Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) announced the official launch of Paleng-QR Ph Plus in the Province of Iloilo, a program designed to broaden the use of QR Ph-based digital payments in public markets, transport services, and other commercial establishments in the province. To support implementation, the Iloilo provincial government issued an executive order calling on municipalities to use the national QR code standard, QR Ph. The initiative is a joint BSP and Department of the Interior and Local Government program and is a priority under the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion 2022–2028. BSP also reported that 207 local government units nationwide had adopted the program as of 19 September 2025. Iloilo’s provincial leadership indicated it will pursue local ordinances, alongside city and municipal councils, to encourage QR Ph adoption and extend coverage across barangays.
