The Italian Institute for Insurance Supervision (IVASS) has ordered internet service providers operating in Italy to block three websites offering insurance services without authorization. The sites are www.rca.assicurazioneroma.it, www.rc.assicurazioneroma.it and assi-ventimiglia.allianzcostacalabrese.it, including the first two domains without the www prefix. Blocking is underway and may take several days for technical reasons. The action brings the number of unauthorized sites blocked by IVASS since November 2023 to 389. Consumers should avoid insurance offers involving instant messaging or requests for payment through prepaid credit cards and verify that websites appear on IVASS's official lists of supervised insurers and intermediaries.
