The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority announced it is participating in the first Sustainable Land Transport Week in Dar es Salaam, using the event to provide public education on insurance, including motor vehicle insurance. The week, organised by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) and held at the Mnazi Mmoja grounds from 24 to 29 November 2025, was opened by Deputy Minister for Transport David Mwakiposa Kihenzile, who described its purpose as educating the public on environmentally friendly transport options such as electricity and gas. TIRA and LATRA also pointed to ongoing work to enable electronic transport tickets (e-tickets) that will provide travellers with information on the insurance provider for the relevant vehicle, intended to help passengers follow up insurance claims if an incident occurs.
