China's National Financial Regulatory Administration, Ministry of Civil Affairs and Ministry of Justice jointly issued a notice promoting nationwide adoption of pilot practices from Zhejiang province and Qingdao for inquiries into deceased persons’ financial accounts. The model integrates financial matters into government one-stop bereavement service platforms, enabling inquiries into banking, insurance and other financial assets and facilitating the withdrawal of eligible small deposits. Regions with established government data-sharing mechanisms and strong cross-agency coordination are encouraged to replicate the model first. The notice sets requirements for operating arrangements and data security, while the three authorities will guide local agencies in adapting the service to local conditions.
