The National Bank of Georgia reported that gross international reserves reached a record USD 7.53 billion in July 2026, rising about 50% year over year and USD 404.6 million from June. The International Monetary Fund’s Assessing Reserve Adequacy metric improved to 118.7%. Net foreign currency purchases totaled USD 2.08 billion from January through June amid favorable market conditions. Monetary gold accounted for 13.5% of total reserves, or USD 1.01 billion, following an additional USD 100 million purchase in June and an increase in the value of gold holdings. July net purchase statistics will be released on Aug. 25, with updated gross international reserve data due on Sept. 7.
