The Italian Institute for Insurance Supervision (IVASS) ordered internet service providers operating in Italy to block three websites offering insurance services without authorization: parlare-prima.it, futura.nobileassicurazioni.it and banconeassicurazioni.it. The orders bring the number of unauthorized websites blocked since IVASS began exercising this power in November 2023 to 385. Blocking is underway and may take several days for technical reasons. IVASS warned consumers against insurance offers involving contact through instant messaging or requests for payment using prepaid credit cards, and advised them to verify websites against its official lists of supervised insurers and insurance intermediaries.
