The National Bank of Denmark published portfolio investment statistics showing that the total value of Danish investors’ foreign portfolio investments increased by DKK 489bn in 2025, reaching DKK 5,779bn at year-end. The rise reflected net purchases of DKK 294bn and price gains, particularly on US shares, which more than offset exchange losses on, among others, American shares and bonds. Danish investors bought foreign shares and investment fund shares while selling bonds, with record-high share purchases of DKK 189bn; around one-third of the purchased shares were European and more than 40% were American.
