Hong Kong's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau announced that the Financial Secretary has reappointed Mr Carlson Tong Ka-shing and Mr Joseph Yam Chi-kwong, and appointed Ms Ding Chen, as members of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). The reappointments and appointment take effect from the conclusion of HKEX’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) until the conclusion of its 2027 AGM. The appointments are made under section 77 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance. The Financial Secretary cited Ding Chen’s experience in financial services, particularly asset and wealth management, and her understanding of the securities market and connections with market participants. The Government also thanked retiring director Ms Nisa Leung and noted that the HKEX board comprises up to six directors appointed by the Financial Secretary, up to six directors elected by shareholders and the HKEX Chief Executive, with other incumbent Financial Secretary-appointed directors including Mr Chan Kin-por, Mr Herbert Chia Pun-kok and Mrs Susan Chow Woo Mo-fong.

The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau of Hong Kong reappointed Mr. Carlson Tong Ka-shing and Mr. Joseph Yam Chi-kwong, and appointed Ms. Ding Chen to the HKEX Board, effective from the 2025 AGM to the 2027 AGM, under section 77 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance. Ding Chen is noted for her financial services expertise. The board comprises up to six directors appointed by the Financial Secretary, six elected by shareholders, and the HKEX Chief Executive.
