The Central Bank of Ireland has named Gavin Curran as Director of Capital Markets and Funds and Max Patanella as Chief Information Officer. The appointments place Curran in charge of the central bank’s capital markets and funds teams, while Patanella will oversee the security, resilience and broader technology strategy of the bank’s IT systems. Curran joined the central bank in September 2022 and has served as Head of Funds Supervision Division since January 2025. The central bank said he has more than 20 years of experience across capital markets and funds in both industry and regulatory roles. Patanella joins from Virgin Media O2, where he was chief information officer for consumer and wholesale, and brings more than 30 years of experience leading IT and digital change in large, highly regulated environments.
