The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has published its 2026 country assessment of SME and entrepreneur financing in Poland, finding that outstanding SME loans increased by PLN 37.2 billion to PLN 270.6 billion in 2024. SMEs accounted for 61.34% of outstanding business lending, while their nonperforming loan ratio fell by 1.24 percentage points to 6.94% and the average SME interest rate declined by 1.03 percentage points to 7.23%. SMEs represented 99.8% of Poland’s nonfinancial enterprises, with microenterprises comprising 97.2%.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development reported that outstanding Polish SME loans rose by PLN 37.2 billion to PLN 270.6 billion in 2024, reaching 61.34% of business lending. SME nonperforming loans and interest rates declined, while public guarantees continued to support access to credit. Venture capital investment strengthened in the first quarter of 2025 despite continued weakness in some microenterprise lending categories.
