The Dubai Financial Services Authority, the independent regulator of the Dubai International Financial Centre, announced the appointment of Juma Thani Alhameli as its Chief Operating Officer, effective 10 June 2025. He will also join the DFSA Executive Committee. Alhameli has more than 20 years of experience leading change and transformation programmes across the United Arab Emirates’ technology, financial services and aviation sectors. Most recently he served as Group Chief Technology Officer at First Abu Dhabi Bank, and previously held senior leadership roles at Abu Dhabi Global Market, including Chief Communications Officer and Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer, alongside roles as a board member of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and chairperson of the Banking & Financial Services Working Group under the UAE’s Economic Collaboration Committee.
