The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority, working with insurance sector stakeholders, extended its corporate social responsibility initiative to students at Nyankumbu Girls Secondary School in Geita. The program combined education on insurance and consumer protection with the provision of sanitary pads to support menstrual hygiene. Students learned how insurance protects individuals, families, property and livelihoods against financial risks, as well as the authority’s role in regulating and developing Tanzania’s insurance sector. The session also covered the Tanzania Insurance Ombudsman’s role in resolving insurance disputes and protecting consumers.
