The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan published an update on Kazakhstan’s securities market for September 2025, reporting that equity market capitalization rose 1.6% month on month to KZT 40.2 trillion as of 1 October 2025. The KASE Index increased 2.2% to 7,149.42 points, with the market rise attributed mainly to higher prices for KASE Index constituents including KazMunayGas (+9.2%) and Kazatomprom (+14.3%). Equity trading turnover increased 9.0% over the month to KZT 27.0 billion, mainly on higher trading in Air Astana and Bank CenterCredit shares. KASE trading lists included 89 share names from 76 issuers (including two names in the non-listed securities sector), while the KASE Global sector comprised 47 share names and 18 ETFs from 59 foreign issuers, with turnover up 23.4% to KZT 21.9 billion. Outstanding corporate debt traded on KASE rose 2.9% to KZT 14.4 trillion and corporate bond turnover increased 35.0% to KZT 670.8 billion, supported by a primary market volume of KZT 494.4 billion (up 45.5% month on month); 643 corporate bond issues from 141 issuers were listed. Government debt outstanding increased 2.1% to KZT 30.7 trillion, while government securities turnover fell 22.3% to KZT 614.5 billion; the Ministry of Finance placed 12 bond issues raising KZT 434.8 billion at yields of 16.89%–17.55%, and 12 regional administrations raised KZT 87.6 billion. The collective investment market comprised 58 unit investment funds with assets under management up 4% to KZT 396.4 billion, and the Central Securities Depository’s nominee account system recorded 4.62 million accounts (up 3.6% month on month), alongside securities market professional participants’ assets of KZT 593.3 billion, liabilities of KZT 150.9 billion and equity of KZT 442.4 billion as of 1 October 2025.
