The Montenegro Capital Market Authority published a recap of the third International “Montenegro Financial Markets” conference, which gathered more than 520 participants from 24 countries. The event highlighted that Montenegro is expected to enter the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) in less than three weeks and presented a new Corporate Governance Code aimed at strengthening business standards and transparency in the capital market. The two-day programme was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Montenegro, with sponsors and partners including VISA as platinum sponsor. Panel discussions covered artificial intelligence, crypto-asset markets and the role of corporate bonds in diversifying funding sources, alongside parallel events including a World Bank and International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) workshop on sustainable reporting adoption roadmaps, a presentation of the new Corporate Governance Code to 100 Montenegrin shareholders, and the “Kapitalko” financial education project for children.
