The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), has launched the AML and CFT Provisions in Securities Market Certification Examination to create a common minimum knowledge benchmark for employees and associated persons of securities market intermediaries. The course covers core concepts of anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT), including related aspects such as provisions of the PMLA and PML rules, and scheduled offences under the SEBI Act and the Companies Act. It also includes guidance on AML standards, CFT and proliferation financing (PF). The examination is one hour long and consists of 50 questions carrying one mark each, with a certificate awarded upon successful completion; module and registration details are available on the NISM website.
