The Central Bank of Poland has published a book by Governor Adam Glapiński, “The Polish zloty and the independence of Narodowy Bank Polski as the foundations of economic development”, setting out the case for retaining the Polish zloty and maintaining central bank independence as key supports for economic development and stability. The publication is structured in two parts. The first discusses risks associated with adopting the euro and argues that independent monetary policy and a floating zloty exchange rate help sustain macroeconomic stability. The second examines the importance of central bank independence in maintaining long-term price stability. The book draws on Narodowy Bank Polski materials and includes external academic endorsements describing it as a comprehensive analysis and recommending it for use as supplementary teaching material.
