Securities Commission Malaysia has issued a discussion paper seeking public feedback as it reviews Malaysia’s corporate governance framework, with input intended to guide a forthcoming revision of the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance and the wider governance framework. The review is aligned with the upcoming Capital Market Master Plan 4, which places corporate governance as an enabler of a resilient, inclusive and sustainable capital market. The review focuses on reinforcing the roles of boards and management in driving long-term value creation and strengthening overall board effectiveness, including behavioural shifts, greater agility in managing emerging risks and adopting new technologies, and continuous improvements to board composition and independence. It also highlights building stakeholder trust through timely engagement and access to information. Feedback is open from 12 December 2025 to 6 February 2026.
