The SBS highlights three main effects: more consistent and predictable committee decisions by gathering all applicable provisions in one instrument, updated criteria intended to improve technical quality and reduce discretion in assessments, and greater transparency and accessibility for affiliates, users, insurers and medical committees. The 2026 edition also states that the manual’s content must be updated periodically, and the document has been published on the SBS institutional website.
