The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) announced that Byson James Kete Turner of Western Australia, also known as Byson James Kete Attrill-Green, has been charged with dishonestly using his position as a company director and with failing to comply with requirements to appear for ASIC examinations, following an ASIC investigation into Links Support and Consulting Services Pty Ltd. ASIC alleges that between 4 September 2019 and 18 July 2022, Turner unlawfully made 2,782 separate transfers totalling AUD 858,948 from Links to accounts in his name, including Sportsbet, Apple, TABTouch, NetLotto, LottoGo, Lotterywest, Oz Lotto and Plus500AU. It further alleges he failed to attend two compelled ASIC examinations on 10 May 2024 and 30 May 2024. Turner faces eight counts under section 184(2)(a) of the Corporations Act and two counts under section 19 of the ASIC Act, with maximum penalties of 15 years’ imprisonment and 4,500 penalty units for the Corporations Act offences and two years’ imprisonment and 240 penalty units for the ASIC Act offences; the matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, and Links was placed under the control of a liquidator on 14 February 2023. Turner appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on 6 February 2026 and the matter was adjourned for further mention on 17 April 2026.
