The Bank of Italy announced it obtained international EDGE certifications in 2024, receiving EDGE Move for its gender equity policies and EDGEplus for its diversity and inclusion policies. EDGEplus covers inclusion initiatives relating to disability, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. The Bank linked the recognition to implementation of its 2023–2025 Strategic Plan, which seeks to strengthen an open workplace that recognises individual needs, including those of minorities, disadvantaged groups and people in transition or critical personal and professional phases. It added that work on inclusion and diversity will continue beyond the certification, with support across the organisation.
