The US Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that seasonally adjusted house prices increased 0.3% in May from April and 2.2% from May 2025. The previously reported 0.1% monthly decline in April was unchanged. Monthly changes across the nine census divisions ranged from a 0.6% decline in the Pacific division to a 1.4% increase in the East South Central division. Annual changes ranged from a 0.3% decline in the Pacific division to a 4.5% increase in the Middle Atlantic division. The next House Price Index report, scheduled for Aug. 25, 2026, will include monthly data through June and quarterly data through the second quarter. Beginning with that release, the agency will also publish quarterly Purchase-Only, All-Transactions and Expanded-Data indexes for 13 large Core Based Statistical Areas composed of divisions.
