The Central Bank of Estonia has published its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments, which is produced for the last month but one, and pointed readers to the more detailed monthly balance of payments information available on its website. It also announced that the balance of payments for the third quarter of 2025 will be published on 11 March 2026. The bank explained that quarterly balance of payments data are compiled from a combined system of representative primary sources, including company surveys, while the monthly series is based on a much smaller database. The flash estimate uses as much month-specific information as possible, including administrative sources and international payments reporting, but remains partly subjective and is therefore presented as an estimate; once quarterly data are released, the monthly balance of payments figures are adjusted accordingly. The release is issued as a statistical publication alongside data and is presented separately from economic policy communications.
