The Monetary Authority of Macao has officially launched the ASEL Online Training Platform, developed jointly with Portugal’s Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority, expanding remote professional training for members of the Association of Portuguese-speaking Insurance Supervisors. Available through a website and mobile app, the platform is intended to give supervisors who cannot attend in-person programmes a more accessible training channel and to support more regular exchange of insurance supervisory knowledge across Portuguese-speaking countries and regions. The launch follows a cooperation protocol on training technical staff for ASEL signed by the two authorities in April. It builds on earlier joint training and study visits in Macao covering insurance technology supervision, International Financial Reporting Standard 17 insurance contracts and solvency supervision, as well as visits to Hengqin and financial technology companies in Shenzhen and Zhuhai. The Monetary Authority of Macao said it will continue working with insurance supervisors in Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions on exchanges and cooperation in insurance and other financial areas.
