The Monetary Authority of Macao, together with the Macao Institute of Financial Training and the Macao Association of Banks, announced it will continue its Financial Talent Training Pilot Project on wealth management in summer 2026, combining structured training with on-the-job experience for university students seeking careers in the sector. The five-week programme will run from 6 July to 7 August and will follow a one-week in-person wealth management course with a four-week internship in private banking or wealth management departments at local financial institutions. The organisers will appoint experienced industry professionals as mentors, and participants will attend a wrap-up session on the final day to share learning outcomes. Interns will receive an internship allowance from host institutions based on actual attendance, and those completing the programme will receive a certificate issued by the organisers. Applications will be open from 16 March to 12 April 2026 for Macao-resident higher education students aged 18 or above who are enrolled in finance-related programmes and interested in wealth management. A total of 25 students will be selected, with the admission list due to be published in late May.
