The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) issued Resolution No. 51/2025 amending the insurance groups and lines table and the run-off migration table in Circular No. 682/2022. The update renames and creates insurance lines for the transport, collective persons and individual persons groupings, and corrects the rural run-off mapping, with the changes effective from 1 July 2025. For transport (group 06), SUSEP created line 59 “Responsabilidade Civil de Veículo - Transportador Rodoviário de Carga - RC-V” to align the table with Article 13 of Law No. 11,442/2007 on mandatory insurance for road cargo carriers, as amended by Law No. 14,599/2023, and revised the description of line 55 because the related coverage for disappearance of cargo is no longer optional. For persons, line 96 was added to both collective persons (group 09) and individual persons (group 13) in anticipation of an expected National Council of Private Insurance (CNSP) resolution on Universal Life insurance, and the names of line 94 (group 09) and line 92 (group 13) were updated to reference the “Life with Immediate or Deferred Income (VRID)” plan introduced by CNSP Resolution No. 464/2024. Annex II was also updated to include the rural insurance lines that became classified as run-off after Circular No. 682/2022 was issued. SUSEP linked the amendments to initiatives in its 2023/2024 Regulatory Plan covering cargo carrier civil liability insurance, products with survival coverage and Universal Life insurance.
