The Bank of Cape Verde announced it will hold a conference with the Consumer Defence Association (ADECO) and the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME) on the future of the Complaints Book, focusing on regulatory evolution, digital modernisation and current consumer protection challenges in financial services. Scheduled for 13 March 2026 in Praia, the event will include an open debate on the possible implementation of a digital Complaints Book, drawing on institutional experience and presenting statistics on complaints in the financial sector submitted via the traditional format and electronic channels. The programme also includes sessions on speeding up and making complaints more effective, assessing the efficiency of the Complaints Book in the context of banking complaints reform, digital complaints management, and the data protection implications of dematerialising the Complaints Book, with participation from the National Data Protection Commission.
