The Montenegro Capital Market Authority reported that its president, Željko Drinčić, met European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) representatives in London to discuss potential institutional cooperation supporting the further development of Montenegro’s financial system and capital market. Talks focused on strengthening financial education and developing programmes that keep pace with the increasing complexity and digitalisation of financial markets, upgrading the legislative and regulatory framework and aligning domestic rules with European standards and practices, and building institutional capacity for consistent implementation. Possible cooperation with the EBRD was discussed through technical assistance projects, exchange of expertise, and initiatives to modernise market infrastructure and improve the investment environment. Both sides indicated readiness to intensify cooperation in the period ahead.
