The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced four senior staff appointments in Chairman Michael S. Selig’s office, naming Brooke Nethercott as Director of the Office of Public Affairs, Emma Johnston as Senior Agriculture Advisor, and Meghan Tente and Elizabeth (Libby) Mastrogiacomo as Senior Advisors. The announcement also thanked Taylor Foy for his service as acting director of the Office of Public Affairs. Nethercott most recently served as deputy communications director for the House Financial Services Committee under Chairman French Hill. Johnston previously served as a senior policy advisor to Senator Tommy Tuberville, covering agriculture, trade, energy, and environment, and supporting his work on the Senate Agriculture Committee. Tente brings prior CFTC leadership experience, including as chief of staff to acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham and as acting general counsel, and previously served as acting director of the Division of Market Oversight. Mastrogiacomo previously served as senior counsel to CFTC Commissioners Summer Mersinger and Dawn Stump and earlier practiced in the derivatives group at Skadden advising CFTC-registered entities and market participants.
