The Canadian Securities Administrators has invited stakeholders to comment on Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization proposed rule amendments that would introduce an Incorporated Approved Person compensation option, advancing CIRO’s earlier work to develop the framework. Implementation would require prior approval of consequential amendments to National Instrument 31-103, Registration Requirements, Exemptions and Ongoing Registrant Obligations, and to securities legislation in at least some provincial and territorial jurisdictions. Comments submitted to CIRO will also inform potential subsequent CSA policy work, including harmonized changes that could apply to other CSA registrants.
