The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority has revoked Eric Insurance Limited’s authorisation to carry on insurance business in Australia under the Insurance Act 1973, completing the insurer’s exit from the general insurance market. The revocation followed a request from Eric’s deed administrators and reflects that, once the deed of company arrangement was executed, Eric had no remaining liabilities in respect of its insurance business. Eric entered voluntary administration on 28 July 2025 and, after a creditors’ meeting, executed the deed of company arrangement on 19 September 2025. APRA had been actively monitoring the withdrawal for some time. Eric, a small general insurer that sold add-on motor vehicle-related products, decided in July 2023 to leave the market and stopped writing new insurance policies in June 2024. APRA’s updated register shows Eric’s authorisation was revoked on 20 May 2026.
