France's Financial Markets Authority has launched the AMF Marie-Josèphe-Vanel law thesis prize, a new biennial award of EUR 5,000 for a doctoral thesis in law that is relevant to the financial markets regulator, with applications for the 2025 edition open until 15 May 2025. For the 2025 selection, eligibility covers authors of a doctorate thesis in French law on a topic of interest to the AMF, defended between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2024. The AMF has established a thesis selection committee chaired by Olympe Dexant-de Bailliencourt, a member of the AMF Board and a professor of private law. The AMF Board will award the prize at year-end based on the committee’s reasoned opinion, and the prize is named in honour of former AMF Deputy Secretary General Marie-Josèphe Vanel. The AMF indicated that final selection and publication of results are planned for the fourth quarter of 2025, with the award ceremony scheduled for December 2025.
