The Central Bank of the Philippines has issued interim currency servicing arrangements for banks transacting with its Cagayan de Oro, General Santos and Ozamiz branches while those sites undergo renovation and retrofitting. Effective Aug. 3, 2026 and until further notice, the branches will suspend fit currency deposits, accept only unfit currency deposits, suspend the standard 20-working-day verification period for currency deposits, and limit currency deposit and withdrawal transactions to 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. The affected branches will also move to a just-in-time cash shipment arrangement for currency withdrawals. Each branch will announce its own implementation date, and once the arrangement takes effect, banks will need to submit withdrawal requests at least one week before the scheduled withdrawal date.
