The Egmont Group published a note marking Hennie Verbeek-Kusters's transition from Head of FIU the Netherlands to an Executive Board position at the Anti-Money Laundering Authority. It uses the announcement to recap her service as Egmont Group Chair and her role in two institutional programmes, the modernization of the group's secure information exchange platform and the establishment of the Egmont Centre of FIU Excellence and Leadership. Verbeek-Kusters chaired the Egmont Group from July 2017 to July 2019, served as Interim Chair from January to July 2020, and then chaired it again from July 2020 to July 2022. The notice says she helped deliver the platform overhaul, which now supports secure information exchange among 182 Financial Intelligence Units worldwide, and helped launch ECOFEL and expand its programmes, including groundwork for the ECOFEL Certification Programme that remains under development. The Egmont Group Chair and Executive Secretary attended a farewell event and met Lisette Heerze, Acting Head of FIU the Netherlands.
