The National Bank of Moldova released provisional third-quarter 2025 statistics on Moldova’s gross external debt, reporting a 12.4% increase to USD 11,600.42 million as at 30 September 2025. This represented 58.9% of GDP, up 2.2 percentage points versus 31 December 2024. Public external debt accounted for 42.0% of the total at USD 4,867.71 million, up 12.8% since end-2024, while private external debt represented 58.0% at USD 6,732.71 million, up 12.1% over the same period.
