The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) has instructed banks operating in the Gaza Strip to begin providing financial and banking services to the public from the morning of 16 October 2025, subject to each bank’s technical and operational readiness. Reopening of bank branches will be gradual and phased. The first phase will see a limited number of branches resume operations based on readiness, with further announcements as additional branches become operational in line with rehabilitation and readiness plans. The PMA also urged citizens to continue using electronic payment methods, including payment cards, e-wallets and mobile banking applications, to meet financial needs and reduce overcrowding at branches.
