The Central Bank of Luxembourg announced that it is a partner in Luxembourg’s national campaign to combat online fraud, an awareness initiative designed to address increasingly complex fraud schemes, explain who to contact in case of suspected fraud, and provide prevention advice. The campaign was launched on 5 June 2025 at the first Governance, Risk, Compliance Summit in Luxembourg and stems from a joint effort by the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity and the Association of Banks and Bankers in Luxembourg, with support from the Ministry of Economy. More than fifteen partners are involved, including the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, the Grand Ducal Police, LuxTrust and Bee Secure. The BCL framed its participation as supporting cybersecurity for the public and the financial sector and as reinforcing its oversight role regarding the security of payment instruments in Luxembourg, with online payment fraud identified as a key aspect of maintaining public confidence in those instruments and in the currency.
