The Arab Monetary Fund has convened the 44th regular meeting of the Arab Committee on Banking Supervision, running on 7–8 May 2025 via videoconference, bringing together heads and senior officials of banking supervision departments from Arab central banks and monetary authorities. The committee operates under the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Agencies, with participation from the Arab Monetary Fund and observers from the Union of Arab Banks, the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Islamic Development Bank Group, and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Arab Monetary Fund Director General Dr. Fahad M. Alturki highlighted ongoing work by Arab authorities to strengthen regulatory frameworks, prudential policies, and alignment with global standards, and pointed to the value of regional and international participation in enriching the committee’s discussions.
