The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) published a community update highlighting new technical materials, including a Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) research paper on climate risk externalities and a joint IADI–Financial Stability Institute (FSI) tutorial on deposit insurance and resolution. The KDIC paper, “The Role of Financial Institutions and Deposit Insurance Agencies in Responding to the Externalities of Climate Risk”, was discussed in an IADI Research Webinar held on 15 January. The IADI–FSI tutorial sets out the role of deposit insurers in the orderly management of bank failures, centred on reimbursing insured deposits and, depending on mandate, contributing to the resolution of failing banks. IADI also flagged information on its website regarding the upcoming 81st Executive Council Meeting, and directed members to eBIS for further details on the research webinar.
